Get to know Margot

Margot Klein is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, AHPRA.  She is a provider for Medicare.

Since completing her tertiary education with Griffith University, Gold Coast campus, in 2001, she has been working as a Registered Psychologist across a variety of settings.  

Margot has worked in both public and private health settings and has experience working with adults with a wide range of psychological presentations including:

  • Anxiety (incl. generalised, PTSD, performance, social, rumination, OCD)

  • Mood Disorders (incl. Depression, Bipolar)

  • Low self-esteem and low confidence

  • Interpersonal relationship issues

  • Self-sabotaging behaviours

  • Problems with emotional regulation

  • Conversion disorders

  • Unexplained medical conditions 

  • Personality Disorders and difficult character traits.

Margot completed a three-year Core Training program in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) with Dr Stephen Arthey at the Melbourne Centre for ISTDP, in 2015. She is currently in her 3rd year of Advanced Training in ISTDP with Dr Stephen Arthey and receives ongoing and regular professional development and supervision in her ISTDP work.

Other therapeutic approaches that Margot has trained and worked in include DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and MI (Motivational Interviewing).


Margot's preferred approaches to her psychology work is ISTDP and DBT.  She currently works part time in private practice, as well as, facilitating psychodynamic groups that utilise ISTDP and DBT principals, in a hospital setting.

Get to know Michael

Michael Scarlett is a registered clinical psychologist and a board approved supervisor. He received his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Griffith University in 2008. Michael specialises in the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Complex Trauma in Adults. He treats adults and older adolescents and is skilled in the treatment of a wide range of psychological problems including:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression

  • Chronic Pain

  • Low self-esteem and self-worth

  • Family and relationship problems

  • Difficulty with emotion regulation


Michael has clinical training and experience in providing psychotherapy to people who present with:

  • Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia and Panic Attacks

  • Mood Disorders including Depression and Bipolar Disorder

  • Psychotic Disorders

  • Personality difficulties and disorders such as Borderline, Narcissistic, Schizoid, Dependent, Avoidant and Obsessive-Compulsive


Michael Scarlett has previously worked as Senior Clinical Psychologist at Mayo Private Hospital in Taree NSW. In this role he has assisted in the development of day treatment programs for posttraumatic Stress Disorder as well as specialised Dynamic Psychotherapy group treatment programs aimed at patients suffering from a broad range of psychological problems.


He has previously worked in Return to Work settings and has previous experience in treatment of forensic clients.

In addition to his university training, Michael has completed a three year core training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) under the guidance of Dr Steven Arthey on the Gold Coast. Michael now participates regularly in ongoing advanced ISTDP training.
